Pickleball

3:45pm every Monday and Wednesday. Held in the gym at the elementary school (please do not show up early as the kids are still there until 3:40).

Pickleball is a great racket sport for all ages and abilities. Bring your racket (if you have one), indoor non-marking shoes for the school, and comfortable clothing. Rackets are available for use at the school and at the outdoor courts.

Cost for indoor drop-ins will be $2.00, or you can buy a yearly BCLC membership for $50.00 which includes access to most activities in the gymnasium, as well as full access to the fitness centre

Fitness Centre

The fitness centre is located in the Burton Community Hall.

The fitness centre houses an array of equipment is available for your use as well as circuit training and mindful yoga

Cost of accessing is $2 for drop-in, or $50 for a yearly BCLC membership 

Available Equipment

◦ Universal station (40+ exercises) with dual weight stacks

◦ Dumbbells 3 lbs – 35 lbs

◦ Barbell, curl bar & plates – 2.5 lbs – 45 lbs

◦ Flat and adjustable weight benches (one with leg extension/ hamstring curl option)

◦ Cardio equipment- elliptical, treadmill, upright and recumbent bike)

◦ Various accessories (balls, bands, kettle bells, skipping ropes, boxes, mats)

Circuit training is included in your BCLC membership and is a participant led fitness program that combines cardio and strength training. The class is approximately 90 minutes long and is scheduled on Monday and Friday mornings from 8:30am to 10am. Previous experience with weight training is helpful as there is no formal instruction. Circuit training is a longstanding community program with many active members. If you would like to attend, please contact Liz at (250) 265-8583 to ensure there is space available.

◦ Classes will combine grounding techniques, intentional breathing and mindful Yoga asana. 

◦ $10 drop-in, All levels welcome.

◦ Thursdays 5:30-6:30 pm

◦ October – December (no class October 23rd)

* The cost of these classes is not included in BCLC membership.

Wednesday  9:00-11:00 am

Thursday  6:30-8:00 pm

Note: Some cancelations may occur due to staffing or conflicting events. If there are no users 30 minutes prior to closing, volunteers may choose to leave early.

What's included in your BCLC membership?

A BCLC membership includes fitness centre access, pickleball and circuit training. Memberships are available at the fitness centre or you can obtain one at pickleball drop in. 

Elementary & secondary students are free of charge, (parent/designated adult supervision required).

About BCA board

The Burton Community Association (BCA) is a volunteer-run group that helps look after our community’s shared spaces and interests. The board is made up of local residents who care deeply about keeping Burton a great place to live. Our current board members are:

Visit the Burton Tech Centre!

Technology is everywhere these days — and it can feel a little overwhelming. The Burton Tech Centre is here to help you feel more confident and creative with the tools around us. Located upstairs in the Community Hall and open every Sunday from 10am – 12pm, the Centre offers friendly support with things like organizing and digitizing old photos, creating videos, using printers, and exploring creative projects. Explore some of the ways the tech centre might be helpful to you below.

Photo management

Need to digitize old photos? Don’t know what to do with your thousands of iPhone photos? Want to transfer photos between devices? Create a photo album? Drop by the tech center during open hours and we can help you out!

Computer Access

We have both PC and Mac computers available, reliable WiFi, colour and laser printers and someone to help if you’re stuck, no matter your skill level. Whether you’re just starting out or tackling a big idea, we’re here for it.

Feeling Creative?

Meet the Burton Volunteer Fire Brigade

The Burton Volunteer Fire Brigade (BVFB) is a proud, community-driven organization made up entirely of local volunteers who step up to protect our homes and families. Whether it’s emergency response, fire prevention, or community safety, these volunteers are here when it matters most.

We’re always looking for new recruits to join the team! If you’ve ever wondered how you could make a real difference in your community, now’s the time. Come by the Fire Hall on Monday nights at 7:00pm (excluding holidays) or give us a call to see what it’s all about.

No experience necessary — just heart, dedication, and a willingness to learn.
